Why I love taking photos

I fell in love with taking photos when I picked up my first camera at the age of 7 years old. There was something so special about being able to freeze a moment in time.

Born under a water sign (known for being sensitive and emotional), I have always loved nostalgia, that bittersweet feeling when you remember the past with longing and happiness. I have boxes of photos from my youth, and now thousands of digital photos of my own kids. These photographs bring me so much joy. They help me recall those little details that change so quickly. Life can change a lot year by year...this is obvious with children, but also with life's many milestones, joys, and sorrows. Photographs help us hold on to the past.

Even if baby is crying, Dad is whining :), and big brother would rather run through the fields. In fact, THOSE are the moments I prefer to capture - the real ones! Of course, I will take smiling at the camera photos for you too, but I'm here to slowly change your expectations of what a photo session looks and feels like - the more comfortable you feel being yourselves, the more you relax and just enjoy the moment with your kiddos, the more authentic photos you will walk away with and be able to display on your walls!
